Poppi (formerly VNGR Beverage) agreed to pay $8.9 million to settle a false advertising lawsuit. Plaintiffs argued Poppi marketed its sodas as “gut healthy,” but each can contains only about 2 grams of prebiotic fiber — too little to provide meaningful benefits — and has sugar content that could offset any benefit. Under the settlement, consumers who purchased Poppi between Jan. 23, 2020 and Jul. 18, 2025 can file claims. With receipts, they may get per‐unit payouts; without receipts, there’s a $16 cap per household. The company denied wrongdoing.
